You also feel pressure to be in touch with your emotions, because nowadays men are expected to be stoic *and* emotionally intelligent. But no one encouraged you to express your emotions as a kid and you were ridiculed those few times you cried. You're worried if you do try to open up, they'll see a side of you they don't like.
